Disc Lock Misery

Any one else had the misery of finding out how flimsy the front 'carbon' mud guard is?? In the face of the mighty (& forgotten) Oxford disc lock it just crumpled  I'll be giving Bahnstormer a call to see what a new one costs, but any thoughts abouht whether fibreglassing it or some other b...

Sabotaged fuel line

Just logged on to have a little rant - Couple of Friday's ago got out to me bike, ready to go home after long hard week at work, and bike pumped fuel all over my feet - some b*&@@#! had cut my fuel line in two (to immobilise it or trying to nick overtaxed and expensive fuel? who knows). Upshot i...

Nearly hit a deer myself on way back from Winchester last week - It's early evenings that are the real danger time. Did hit a deer a few years ago when I had my TRX. Was doing a steady 60, saw the deer, took avoiding action, deer ran out of my way (phew) changed it's mind and ran right into me (sh*t...

All the oils and gaps were checked and changed yesterday in its service, and it's still doing it - The vibes at 80+mph are getting pretty fierce too - finger numbing in fact - I'm awaiting my first BMW moment of 'character' I think?

I heard that the 20/50 helps protect the valves by cushioning them better than other oils too

Strange noise at 3000 revs

When I'm accelerating up through 3000 revs, and slowing back down again through 3000 revs, in 1st, 2nd or 3rd gears, I get a strange buzz, only lasts a second or so as I pass through that rev point, unless I hold it at 3000 and then it'll carry on going. can't make it do it at standstill when it's i...

Stupid Exhaust

In a moment of post winter paranoia and the belief I could hear the exhaust blowing I tried getting the silencer off yesterday, (simple eneough job I thought) - Big clamp came undone easy enough, but that pesky little security nut to make sure the cans stay on if the main clamp doesn't hold on just ...

Silver lining is I rang Guildford BMW today and had a really useful conversation with the service guy there, they were really helpful, didn't mind spending abit of time chatting about my queries and makes me think (if I can afford it) future dealings will be done there from now on. He said tho' he's...

SPC - New Ownership

Just tried phoning SPC to sort out something on my S and guess what - Under new ownership, won't be open for a while! A couple of months ago I posted on this forum a bit about my dream about turning up there and it was deserted - spooky de ja vu or what? :!: Guess I'll be going to Guildford instead ...

ME4's

Got 7500 miles on the clock and rear ME4's just about shot, and squarer than a square thing after A3(M) commute every day. Is the ME4 a reasonable do it all tyre worth sticking with or has anyone found one they like better? Also my warranty's up in a month and dear Mr BMW has said for £650 I can get...

Expensive or what?

6000 service done today - £300 - Oh good grief  Swing arm had a bit of play and needed adjusting, and a few other bits needed sorting on top of oil and filter - but £300? Can this be normal?? Are there any non-franchise BMW mecahnics around the Hampshire area people can recommend (who don't c...

Wierd Dream

I had a wierd dream last night that my office had moved to Farringdon as it had relocated to the deserted SPC showroom, as they had gone bust!!!!

Any one out there any good at interpreting dreams? Bit worrying as mine's in for its 6000 mile service in the next month or so!!

Cheers, Dave
