Re: 04 R1100S low fuel light not working?
Unless yours has a modified larger tank I'd be shooting for 130 miles rather than 150. Unless yours has a modified larger tank I'd be shooting for 130 miles rather than 150. Correct , N9JOB light came on a few times about 129 miles !! I kind of start looking for a fuel station about 110 miles when ...

Re: 04 R1100S low fuel light not working?
Not had this problem, but first bike I've had without a fuel gauge. With lockdown & work I've not had much chance to get some miles on the bike, so still learning the tank range. Is 150mls a good "marker" to think about refueling. Also, what is the emergency range once the light does c...

Thanks all. I'll check cabling at the same time... Photo looks worse than it is I think, having looking at the same on my bike. Will await some drier days before attacking the job! I've got contact cleaner spray for the clean up...ACF50 before putting back together to keep it tip-top once reassemble...

Pete. wrote:You can certainy get the neutral light switch off the retainer because I just tried it. Will be major PITA to get it back on but it's definitely doable.
Thanks Pete,
Do you happen to know if the R11S is a pot type Neutral or a switch type (yes I know a pot is sort of a switch )

R1100S - Intermitent Neutral Light
My R11S has an intermitent Neutral light issue. Although physcally in Neutral (defo not in gear) there is no light. Have had a read, and need to check some bits... - dash lamp - loom to dash I did some searching, and it appears that these bikes have a potentiometer rather than a switch for neutral p...

R11S Rear Indicators - Alternatives
Wondering if anyone has found a good replacement for the 11S rear indicators. Last owner of might clipped (and broke) the LHS stem. It's temp fixed at the moment, and I can always get a new stem, but wondering if anyone has found alternative light units that sit closer to the frame, but are still in...

So on the pillion seat cowl.
Turns out my friend had it, just hadn't found it in "the loft".
He dropped it round today, so looks like I have the fabled hen's tooth

Re: Hi from Lincolnshire
Don’t be tempted to leave the engine idling in your garden - these Boxer twins are renowned for overheating one exhaust port/header in that situation. That is why BMW recommend start - idle for a few seconds - ride off slowly, letting engine heat up before giving it some welly. This sort of info is...

Re: Hi from Lincolnshire
Hi there!! I’ve yet to ride my R11S... world/family/Corona scare. I’ve had her running over in the garden and having never ridden a boxer before (in any guise) totally wasn’t expecting lateral throw of the engine when you blip the throttle. Waiting for a clear day to get out on the tarmac for a few ...

Re: R11S Tank Pad
I'm looking for the same, not seen anything I like yet. I may try a piece of Ventureshield, good quality and virtually invisible. Oooh Was thinking of similar as an alternative, but didn’t know what to look for. That stuff looks good. £13 on Amazon for 600x100mm piece isn’t too scary. Guess it can ...

R11S Tank Pad
Can anyone suggest a low key tank pad.
Have had a quick look on the eBoo and there isn’t much choice outside of garish Ninja style stuff.
There’s a couple of BC originals but they are £££
TIA
