Re: high idle lever operation.
I took out the brass screws and used carb cleaner to remove the gunk. Then after taking the bike for a spin to get things warmed up I used a twin vacuum gauge to get a nice idle. Idles perfectly now. Thanks for the replies.

Re: N.Wales R1100S
Interesting views guys. I must have to admit that I have been looking for possible part ex's. A gs in good nick is going to be a little too expensive. What a shame when I really love the looks and performance of the r1100s! Mmm, we'll see.

Re: N.Wales R1100S
Hi Mike, how's it going? Where I am so far - a guy from the USA on my facebook said he has bar backs for sale. I have asked how much to ship to the UK but he hasn't replied yet. I have looked at the LSL bar risers. On the ad for them it mentions ABS, which my bike isn't. I have emailed them to ask i...

Re: high idle lever operation.
Hi nab, should have mentioned it's a R1100s but I think you've sussed that out.
I will check for vacuum plugs when I get into the garage in the morning. I thought the big brass screws might have something to do with the idle. So if needs be I can get the carbs balanced which should sort the idle out.

Re: N.Wales R1100S
Sorry to hear about the knees problem Al. Keeping a bike for 10 years! It's good to hear that the mod's with lowering the pegs improved your upper body comfort which is what I'm looking for. And I'm glad the GS is suited. Hey nab, an 1100s for 10 years as well, that's some going! And in that time it...

high idle lever operation.
Hi all. I call it the high idle lever and I hope you guys know what I am referring to? I use the high idle lever as one would use a choke on start up. And then decrease the lever as the bike warms up lowering the revs. But at idling I find I have to have the lever cracked a little bit otherwise the ...

bar backs for R1100s
Hi all. I have a non ABS R1100s and have raised the bars above the yoke. I had to lengthen and modify the brake hose. I am now considering bar backs to try and make riding more comfortable. My question is, would I need to make any more alterations for them to fit? Lengthen any more cables etc?

N.Wales R1100S
Hi all, excellent website. I bought a R1100s a few months back and to be honest I am hanging on by my fingertips! Same old story, riding position! I didn't think the R1100s was too extreme when it came to riding position. But longer rides, which I love doing, result in numb hands, aching forearms an...
