Hello Chaps
Does anyone know what the thread size and pitch of the tappet screw is ( part No11 33 1 341 045) ? I'm looking at upgrading some tappets on another make bike which are M6 0.75mm thread, so short of removing my 1100s rocker cover and looking myself , I thought one you might know. Cheers

Re: Engine Paint?
Did you use silver Hammerite on your engine? If so how did it go?
I have used it on fork legs ect, but not on an engine.
An 1100S project coming up and it will need a bit of tidying around the engine. Cheers

Re: R1100S Centre stand options?
Quick update , the 6mm bits of ali plate on the bottom of the centre stand lifts the rear wheel about 6mm clear of the ground, so that was a result.
I do have a rear paddock stand, but what I wanted was to be able to safely put the bike on centre stand away from home.

Re: R1100S Centre stand options?
I fixed the bits or ali to the bottom of the stand with some countersunk M5 screws and gave them a quick coat of satin black , just got to put the stand back on in the morning and try it out .

Re: R1100S Centre stand options?
Hi Chaps Thank for your replies. I have a cunning plan , fix 2 pieces of 6mm ali plate to the bottom of the stand with a couple of small nuts and bolts which is enough to lift the rear wheel.

R1100S Centre stand options?
Hello Chaps I have raised the rear a tadge buy using a GS torque arm , so now the rear wheel touches the ground when the bike is on centre stand. Not wanting to extend the rather rare stand I have , I was wondering if another more common (cheaper) stands from one of the other R bikes in the range fi...

Re: Ethanol Fuel Stabilizer
I use Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer in all our bikes, mowers and chainsaws. Never had a problem with goo from ethanol in the petrol over the winter.

Well, I bought a refurbished starter motor from Motoworks, fitted it and now the engine spins over faster than it has ever done. Job done

That's great I didn't know you could just replace the stem, I'm always breaking mine in the garage.
Found them at Motorworks.

Re: R1100S Engine won't spin over
After seeing a post about a starter motor loosing a magnet , I'm going to pull mine just to check, So fairing off again to disconnect the battery
It might be the culprit of slow turning over and the total loss of movement.

Hi Thanks for your reply
I did check the terminals on the starter motor and main negative terminal on the gearbox before buying a new battery. Hopefully it was a one off .

Re: R1100S- It just cut out
Hi Thanks for your reply. I must admit I didn't notice the speedo & rev counter at the time. I didn't have the tank right off, but hinged up enough to get the battery out. I run the bike in gear on the paddock stand and tried the side stand but nothing until nearly completely down also wiggled a...
