Seems I had misjudged Motorrad.
I got back a nice letter apologising & saying their database had been wrong but would now be updated and they would refund me the extra costs I'd incurred due to their incorrect information.
Well done them.

No. I am still covered. All the brokers refused because their system only showed (correctly) 1085cc so I went directly to insurance companies where they make their own decisions and ended up with LV. I'm sure the calculations are correct but the point I was raising was were some 1100 fitted with 1130 motors as standard from the factory (which according to BMW here mine was?) I know it's a trivial thing but I found most brokers didn't want to quote for insurance because of this, which was a pain....
