Re: Wilbers shock
Yep, that's in need of a 'little' rebuild too  http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g270/stuartburchall/007AF529-F667-4775-B865-25484D677A6C_zpsvk9qxdt0.jpg

Stoner publicly stated that there was only one thing that would temp him back to racing in MotoGP...............a return to 2 strokes, that'll probably be on the same day that Honda announce that they want no further say in future regs for the premier class, radio controled cars and fishing rods sud...

I got the impression that the version you're referring to with the additional smalll piston was part of the first upgrade kit offered by BMW and that this kit has since been discontinued and now just has the single piston??? I noticed from the pictures that there is also a difference to the oil feed...

Looks as though it's a mod well worth doing (via up to date dealer parts as they seem to like changing their minds!) so I'll add these to the list. I'd have been initialy tempted to just do the left hand side (to simply quieten the engine down) but after more reading it seems these engines have a te...

R1200S / R1100S cam chain tensioner
Hi all, I read somewhere that there's a cam chain tensioner upgrade available for the R1100S that's essentionaly the same design that BMW used on the R1200S. Has anyone got any direct experience using these or of failures to the timing gear that could point the finger at the original design being a ...

No need to post pics Dave, I googled 'Vibor Paravic' and got a hit on the video he posted showing it merrily burning away and blocking the London traffic, that's definitely my new toy :D (saves me posting pictures as it doesn't look much better now than it did then.........) though I would still be ...

Hi David, If you can find and copy over a couple of the pictures from facebook it would pretty much confirm if it's the bike I've now got and yes it would be interesting to get in touch with the original owner and find out some history. I'm not saying the bike is ugly but I took some shots on my old...

cable speedo drive conversion
Re' my toasted R1100S build, I'm looking towards a very minimalist look and want a 50s style single 7" round headlamp with integral speedo, no other instruments. At first glance it looks like the most economical way to do this would be to first convert the bike back to cable speedo (as the bike...

Cheers for getting back to me guys. I've just taken a look at the bike Gus built and unfortunately (for me) it's not the same bike as the one currently making my garage look like a forgotten storage unit from Mad Max. The silencers on mine are directly under the engine (dictating such short header l...

Hi all, thought I'd best say hi before going on the tech' forum and asking loads of dumb questions that have probably been asked before. I've recently picked up a fire damaged R1100S, in addition to being well toasted it's previously had a superbike/boxer cup style handle bar conversion and has a pa...
