Re: Cracked FR Fork leg ??? !!!
Made me panic about mine now - will get the bike out and take a look. It's probably worth a look but it's pretty obviously not a common problem. I'm sure my fork leg was quite a way away from "failing", but on the other hand I wouldn't want to ride it like that .... especially at track da...

Re: Cracked FR Fork leg ??? !!!
I've removed the split fork leg and found another crack on the inside ( see pics ) !!! Post mortem dissection showed that it's caused by corrosion !! I've never really heard of this before ( in the context of any upside down fork leg ) so I wonder why ? My R11s has had a reasonably easy life, it's n...

Thanks for the kind offer Jez, but mine are BMW. I've bought a 2rd hd replacement already anyway ( next track day is looming ), thanks.

I was under the impression that they're screwed together - with a very fine thread. I'm sure I've seen write ups where someone has managed to unscrew the the lower from the tube.

Re: Cracked FR Fork leg ??? !!!
I suspect it may be corrosion that will have caused that. On two fronts.............. Metal oxide occupies a much larger volume than the parent metal (steel is 7 times greater volume) Corrosion can cause interstices which make cracking more likely. The alloy corrodes and swells - and cracks to reli...

Re: Sports or touring?
I wouldn't discourage you from an S, it's definitely a sports tourer and loads of fun everywhere. Get the luggage and it'll munch the miles with the best of them and return good mpg and comfort too. However, there are boxer alternatives that fall between the S and the GS that are very much underesti...

SOLD Full Remus SS System for 11s for sale, Suffolk.
I've got a vgc SS Remus system ( full syst goes from headers ) for sale. I had it on my bike and it was fine but found it a tad too loud for me but she certainly sound very nice and felt just a little livelier on the throttle. It's got all the fittings ( springs etc ) and as I say it's in very good ...

Re: noisy exhaust?
I'm all for a bit of noise, within reason admittedly, it's saved my bacon a few times whilst filtering or approaching dithering biddies in their Micra's. Also, I'm not sure about the boy racers having a claim to be the noisiest, have you heard a vintage and classic rideout pass your house on a Sunda...

I'll of course also be traversing Gemany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and possibly Estonia so ...

I've got Diablo Rosso III's for my track day exploits on my Yellow 11S, very pleased with them ( twice at Snett ) and they'll be back out a couple of times this year too
