Hi, I'm not surpised you may find it a bit odd at first if you've not had a BMW before, they are different to Jap 4's and hopefully may grow on you. I think you need to be aware of the bike trying to pick itself up out of corners and hold it down, if it's running wide. I don't know which bikes you m...

I would say it sounds like a fuel issue. I presume you were only at low revs each time it cut out. As Tim says, if it has never had it's fuel filter changed in 7 years, you should do it. I remember on one of my old BM's, the fuel filter had developed a hairline crack in the casing, but that had the ...

If we assume that each of the press bikes was shown no mercy, when out for reviewing................... ................ and uses very little oil between services now - Going easy in the first 1000 miles - wouldn't appear to be the best way to run the bike in?? Al :D Correct. A lot of early bikes s...

Phew!
That was close. My reg is R158RRD. Very interesting, I bought mine from Astle (Harveys as it was then), in July 1999 with 9k on the clock. Was told it had one previous owner who had it a year and then decided to swop back to a tourer. No mention was ever made of any other history. Bike dealers...tsc...

AC Welcome. Sounds like you have a similar bike to me although I don't have the belly pan. I live near Hull, so if you fancy a trip to Squires some time just post in the days out section. I can't do Wednesday nights unfortunatley as I'm pre-occupied but any fine Sunday, wouldn't mind a run out. John

Speedo Connector
Hi all, I,ve discovered a broken wire in my speedo cable connector under the seat. It's not the side that connects to the pick-up in final drive but the other side. Anyway, here's a photo (I hope-my first time). Anyone tell me how to get this apart? http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc70/WINNY48/Pi...

Blind Cashier
A woman goes into Harrods to buy a rod and reel for her grandson's Birthday. She doesn't know which one to get, so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter. The Harrods salesman is standing there, wearing dark shades. She says, "Excuse me. Can you tell me anything about this rod and reel...

Hi Parky, Not sure how I missed this thread, I think I was away that week. My mate owns the bike shop in the main street in Malton. Known him most of my life as we grew up living fairly close to each other. I also came to the R1100 after a K100RS which did great for touring but wanted something more...

Hi, I just replaced the original battery on mine this year (1998 bike). Although it's never really had any hard use and for the last year it needed changing as I was having to charge it regularly as it was going flat if the bike wasn't run for more than fortnight. So, if yours is still on the origin...
