Sounds like you have to send him your ecu to reprogram - the R1100S has an eeprom chip in a socket that can be unplugged and I guess the GS does not.

You forgot the other 'benefit' of fitting yer own - you can mark your rims up badly if it goes wrong! I find removing the tyre the most difficult when its half off.

I do all mine and use balance weight, I dont have a compressor but its not often I cant seat the bead with my foot pump. I get a bit red and out of breath though.

Just back from Tenerife, rented a Pegaso for the day, second nature to ride on the other side of the road. Next day rented a Fiat Panda and did the same route up Mt Teide, and motorway to Santa Cruz, never been so scared in a car!

Phil Morris is one person behind the organisation of the event. Part of the Morris family in Shrewsbury who own Morris Oils, a string of carehomes and a large construction and development company. He is not short of cash and set up the Oswestry road racing bike museum a couple of years ago. I guess...

I rode my Boxer on those very roads earlier this year and nearly crashed, its good tarmac all new and just sucks you in to ride fast.
