He is probably right!

IMHO, the first thing you need to do is get the sag settings right. If you haven't done that, then you are wasting your time doing anything else.

Castrol Axle EPX 80w-90 API-GL-5 in my FD Just to add a note of confusion, it would appear that BMW have reduced the amount required for the FD on the 1200s to 180 ml. I would guess that this has more to do with addressing the ongoing issues with seals etc. How it will affect the wear and performan...

Re: The end of motorcycle dealers

...........who reckoned dealerships could become a thing of the past. Not going to happen - but who owns and controls the dealerships, and where they are situated, will certainly change. By cutting out the dealers, bike prices could be reduced, which is a big part of the problem with sales at the m...

i would say having a map blown into the ecu is the way forward at this present time regarding getting the best out the motor regarding power, how that power is delivered and how efficent it does it. I need to get mine done and compare it to the pc3 i have fitted. i will make a few phone calls and t...

Wet torque and dry torque. As you can guess wet is with the thread lubricated and the manual will state what lubricant to use when applicable. If you have worked on helicopters you may have come across this more often than not. Basically a wet torque will be much lower to achieve the same tightness...

I am just putting my anorak on! I totally understand the point that 105 Nm on a lubricated thread is not the same as 105 Nm on a dry thread. However 105 Nm on a lubricated thread is...

Any bolt that is a 12.10 tensile strength would do the job. How ever plated bolts that have not been de-embrittled after plating are not good enough, I personally would get an original I would agree totally with Bob on that. BMW obviously regard the shock bolts as being something special. I have ju...

sandbar, Where did you find that info? From somebody who knows about these things!! He didn't say that it was definitely the problem. What he said was that it sounds like the problem, and that it is a very common fault. It is a lot more common than Volvo (and Audi!) are prepared to admit. Just in c...

Re: Long Shot - V70 vibration

annoying vibration on the V70. It's an AWD D5 Geartronic, Mark 2, 2004 with 90000 on the clock. Apparently, a very common problem is the failure of the Haldex diff. Exactly the symptoms that you describe. Get it on some wet grass and see if you do actually still have the 4WD feature. It may by now ...
