Hi
I fitted a HID 50 kit (www.hid50.com) to my 1100S about 4 years ago, have done over 100,000 miles on the same bulb, no problem with other drivers once adjusted slightly lower than standard. Have just put a HID 50 kit on my other 1100s, done 10,000 miles again with no problems.

Clutch life
Hi
I bought a clutch at 100,000 miles thinking mine would be wearing out... I'm now passing 135,000 and the original clutch is still going fine. Bike does 125 miles a day on out of town roads, so I guess it gets an easy life.

I think you will find there is a hidden grub screw part way down the side of the barrel, the hole is filled with some 'soft' material you have scrap out to see the screw. Take the screw out and the electrical part of the barrel will pull away. The other end just unplugs from one of the electrical po...

steve I think the old bike rides really well considering the mileage. I cant detect any movement from the swinging arm or telelever but Im sure they must be worn. The paralever bearings have been replaced a couple of times and are currently fine. The hyperpro rear shock is overdue a service as its d...

my 1999 R1100s has now done 129,000 miles (105,000 by me). So I thought it was time to get another R1100s to share my daily commute. Plan is to keep the new bike (2003, currently with 24,000 miles) for the "summer" and the old one for the winter. [img] [img]http://i1052.photobucket.com/alb...

which year best
Hi all, My current R1100S has done 127,000 miles and is still running well, but as I use it all year and cover 2,400 miles a month the weather is really taking its toll. My plan is to buy another "newer" low mileage 1100s to use over the 'summer' months and my old bike for the winter. My q...

Hi,
I also use my 1100s for travel to work (600 miles/week). I've been using mich PR2 for last 3 years (BT20/21 before that). I can get 10K out of them, still legal but a 'bit' squared off. (36psi front, 42psi rear).
Ride through the winter months, they feel very safe in wet & cold.

A great bike .....
Hi, My bikes on 111,000 miles (bought with 24,000 showing 3 1/2 years ago). I'm still running with the same clutch and drive shaft. A few bearings have been changed in that time. Gets used every day which I think is the key to a reliable bike..... ride it and enjoy it,you wont be disappointed. mark

1100s Clutch life ?
Hi I bought my 1100s 3 years ago with 24K on the clock, now up to 102K. My question is, whats the life expectancy on the clutch. (cant see anything in the paper work to say it was changed in first 24K before I got the bike) My daily ride to work (125miles) is mainly fast A roads and motorway so the ...
