Ian - I notice you are in Bristol - where do you take your bike for its MOTs?

Thanks for your comments - I am worried about the noise rather than emissions. Though far as I am concerned the pipes are quite muted (especially compared to my previous Guzzi which had 'race' pipes fitted) -but I have heard that the MOT rules are now much stricter - so I am keen to learn of any tes...

MOT for Boxer Cup Replica

Hi - my Boxer Cup Replica is coming up for its 3rd birthday and I am trying to locate an MOT tester in/around Cheltenham/Glocestershire that is not going to fail her for having the catalyst removed (I have a Y piece fitted with the standard Laser cans - fruity but not outrageous!). Does anyone know ...

Al thanks for the info. I use an Oxford Tank bag & Tail Pack (silver coloured) on my 04 BCR - which is fine if you tour in the summer as I do (i.e do not need to pack many clothes). How much is the Givi tank cover? As for tyres I have given up using Sport Tecs as the rears lasted 2000 miles a pe...

Looks great - have you made any mods to her? And what tank cover have you fitted (is it to take a tank bag or just to protect the tank)?

Why fit a Y pipe?

Many thanks for the information. I have not got a centre stand, and the standard Laser end cans currently fitted seem to be securely mounted/attached, so it seems I just need to decide what Y pipe to buy. I inititially thought I would go for a Laser as the end cans are Laser (I assumed the fit would...

Why fit a Y piece?

I have a 2005 (acually one of the last 2004) model BCR with standard Laser end-cans. However, I used to have a Guzzi 1100 Sport with open pipes and the guys I ride out most with all have Ducatis or Aprillias with non-standard exhausts. I would like to gain a few decibels (not least so I can hear my ...

I am just about to change the Sportec rear tyre on my 04BCR - which has lasted less than 2000 miles (600 of which were running in). Before my BCR, I had a Guzzi 1100 Sport - on which I ran Bridgestones - an 010 on the front and an 020 on the rear which worked well. Is this a good combination on the ...

Engine Oil

:D Many thanks for all the suggestions. My BCR has only done 1700 miles so far - so I will stick to semi synthetic for the time being. Incidentally - I was surprised to find it used c 500ml oil in c 300 miles (fairly brisk speed) - I have heard these engines do use a bit of oil - but does it slow do...

Engine Oil

:?: Hi - I have recently acquired an 04 BCR and wonder whether its OK to use Castrol Magnatec oil in it - as I used to use it in my Guzzi 1100 Sport?

If not, what other engine oil is receommended?

Cheers
Clive
