Re: Seized motor

Hi Albert

You don't mention if you rode the bike home from the ferry and how long it has been stood. I would be very surprised if the motor has seized. Does the rear wheel rotate with the clutch pulled in? Perhaps the starter has jammed in the engaged position?

Re: r1200s - how hot can they go?

Playing with the GS911 you can do a temp guage check. When it reaches max the red warning light comes on and the bottom temp bar flashes. Re oil surely the weight is more important than whether its synth. Book recommends a 50w for hot temps.

R1200S OEM Complete Exhaust System

My new to me R12S came with an Akro and the original exhaust. OEM doesn't look as though its been used. Make me an offer.

Cheers

Dave

R12S Heli Bar Fitment

Just purchased a 12S with helibars fitted. Brake line from master cylinder to telelever is very tight, anyone had a similar problem and managed to overcome it without fitting an extended hose?

Further reading of maintenance instructions booklet reveals that plugs are changed at 24k. Seems a long time any comments?

12,000 mile service

Fast approaching the 12,000 mile service on my twin spark - do all four plugs need changing, and if so does any one know what the gap is for the smaller ones.

Oil/fluid leak

Re your leaky rear ends, do you think this could be exacerbated by using fully synth oil?
