I'm in a quandery though - I ride a yellow R1200S and I think they look naff on the bike - they look more acceptable on a black bike, I think?
Has anyone painted them?

I ride the identical bike - even to the black screen
Just put an Ilmberger Hugger on mine it really adds to the look.
I can't believe how good looking they are as a bike. I smile each time I look at it - can't believe I actually own one!

R1200S 1st Gear Selection

I'm having problems engaging first gear quickly when setting off from junctions/lights ect. Sometimes the gear just wont engage without me moving the rear wheel. Other times it feels like its in and the neutral light goes out only to re-appear as I begin to drop the clutch. I am recently new to BMWs...

Just fitted an Ilmberger hugger on a R1200s and yes the wheel must come out if it's the same. Didn't have a rear hub stand although I had several offers from other Trixters. In the end I simply put a 2" nominal bore tube through the hub and two of us lifted the rear up and placed car axle stand...
