I'd pay 50 quid and get the fecking thing removed - that's what I did! I had two bikes with that alarm simultaneously - went in to the garage one day and pressed the blipper - BOTH fecking bikes disarmed  One bike had tuned itself to the other's frequency. The original correct blipper just st...

Personnally I'd chuck a pair of those cheap BMW head protectors on - the plastic ones. I've been down the road on diesel and they didn't wear through. I know the cam overs are cheap and easy to replace but it only take a stone or a small irregularity (or pothole perish the thought) or something to p...

Re: Tyre Depth (55/50)
I have been offered a 50 rather than 55 rear. Other than lowering the bike, any thoughts on pros/cons? Thanks, John PS. FWIW, it's not actually for the 11S It'll obviously change the gearing too (I'm assuming the width is the same?). If it's for knocking about on and just wearing out then I reckon ...

I split mine on the S last year - put new BMW pistons and seals in. Did it on my knees on a dirty floor in fact. I hate bleeding brakes and it took a few goes but once I'd bought a 40 quid vacuum jobbie it helped shed loads. Having said that it took about a week to get them bled properly about a mon...

thanks for all your replies - i suspect the wiring is the cause and will look into it I'm with Bailey - mine has done this... twice. When it won't start, check the front sidelight and the rear light - mine were going out and the fault was the wiring to/from the ignition barrel. Twist the steering r...

Hi Due to work have not manage a revisit to the offending LH exhaust clamp, but will hopefully later in the week. I have been looking to remove the whole system as suggested, but can not help thinking (that can be dangerous) that this may lead to broken studs on the LH cylinder head. Darkness Just ...

Re: Play in the rear wheel
Hi Guys Been trailing through posts on Paralever bearing replacement and adjustments. Bike has done 24000 miles. Qn The play I am experiencing is mainly 12 and 6 o'clock and not the normal 3 and 9 o'clock Would this still be those bearings. Could it be the bushing in the torque arm? If I apply the ...

Hi Jason, Of course that bike is worth it!!! To many memories there to stick in the corner. I would be junking all the ABS kit (my first S had ABS and I tried to bleed it--NIGHTMARE) and fitting new hose's all round. Hope you get it sorted soon-- Shall we see you in Wales? Not that much of an early...

Cheers Boys - Yea, the rubber doesn't sound good! As for the vacuum bleeder - yep, used that too. No bubbles coming through the system at all and I must have put about 200ml of fluid through too. I think the hoses might be the way to go. The ABS hasn't worked for about 50k anyway. I'm starting to wo...

bleeding fecking brakes
OK... I haven't quite had to resort to the big twatting hammer but I can feel the urge to get it off the bench and beat my bike into a small ball, throw it in a skip then set fire to it whilst running round screeching and screaming like a maniac.. but it's close These fecking brakes.... I've thought...

Ask Jason in a couple of years' time :) I know plenty of H0ndas with 250k+ on them. Was an article in MCN a couple of years ago about a guy who'd got nearly 300k on a Blackbird, and had put over 400k on a VFR750. His 'tricks' (or just good old common sense) and tips for making an engine last were v...

Jason, The rear preload loaded sag should be about 35mm, static sag about 10mm. As regards the front, then sorry. I have asked a few suspension guys regarding front sag and as it is a shock and not forks they don't know. If you want to go to MHRacing in Wiltshire, they do an excellent job setting s...

Technoflex settings
I've just had my Technoflex shocks reconditioned but they seem ot have come back set up for a 55 stone German who soley rides on glass surfaces in straight lines. I didn't note my settings (stupidly) before I sent them away. Does anyone have any starting settings (specifically preload) for a 14 ston...
