I test rode one when it first came out. Lovely looking bike. Great performance, pretty extreme riding position. For me really only useful as a sunday afternoon ride, if you don't need anything more practical go for it. The bonnie would be far more practical though.

I think the BMW indicator controls are great and far better than regular controls. I have been using them a long time and find regular controls very fiddly by comparison.

Cheers guys, I'll go with it then.

The bike has done 24000 miles now, so should be run in.

Halfords do this oil for about £30, currently offering a free mini socket set with it too. :)

Halfords 5W/40 Fully Synthetic Oil

Hi Guys,
I'm off to France for the weekend, so giving the bike a service.
I always fail to make a note of what oil I used the last time.

I'm considering Halfords 5W/40 Fully Synthetic. Will it do the job?

vibs sorted gave the trottles a good balance! cheers It's an illusion. You have convinced yourself that it's sorted. They'll be back, they always come back. The vibes are bothering me again. I'm biking in France this weekend, the way I feel about the vibes at the moment I would rather stay at home....

You may have to learn to live with it. :? I was always bothered by the vibes. I set everyting as best I could but still found it too vibey. The final cure for me was moving the bars above the top yoke, thereby taking a bit of the weight off my wrists. The vibes then no longer bother me. See threads ...

I've been running without the cross member for the last 3K, seems secure enough.

Welcome from a fellow ex Southender.
What do you mean about the freedom of riding in the UK??
Can't imagine anywhere less free, thought the states was the land of the free.
